What is the rule (or governing etiquette) for personally knowing another player in the game? I ask because my friend (username teek) is interested in playing LT36 (I think he has already signed up) which will be his first LT game. It seems like it might not be totally fair, since we work in the same office and we would probably be less inclined to attack one another if we came across each other. I just wanted to check if this is something that already happens and is tolerated, or if only one of us should play LT36. If the latter is preferred by everyone then I will not join and will instead just advise my friend so that he hopefully doesn't lose too quickly
Thanks!

It's not a problem really. It's very fair to tell people you know each other. Also in the past there have also been cases where people connecting from the same ip address made some people curious. Giving some reasonable explanation about that is needed - and your post explains very well if you occasionally connect from the office and with the same ip.
