Let's start planning LT36, the first 2.5 game

Since LT35 only started today, LT36 probably won't happen for a while. We can however start collecting ideas and stuff for it.

What it comes to the launch date of LT36, it might be something like this.

- opening this forum
- ideas, ideas... :)
- getting feedback from LT35
- make the first draft of the 2.5 ruleset, maybe around September
- more feedback from LT35
- more ideas
- maybe testing in October/November
- opening signups
- fixing stuff
- possibly starting LT36 in November/December

Ideally the game would start once LT35 is over but the timing for that is of course impossible to predict atm since LT35 may end sooner than expected.

I think that the most desired change is: short time between starting LT35 and LT36.

Situation when game will start once LT35 is over is far from being ideal. Eg - when I will die early, then I will wait half year to start another game :(

We can start LT36 sooner than I planned in the opening post, but the switch to Freeciv 2.5 may slow things down. If we can figure out everything sooner than that, then why not. By the end of September we should have good idea about how the latest changes affect the gameplay. LT35 has most changes for the early game taking place before gunpowder.

re effect of game play - how can I play shortturn(*) with lt ruleset with longturn players?

when I say shortturn - I mean not orthodox short turn, but let's say several minutes/turn. Slow enough to play during work, fast enough to try and catch bugs and have fun.
