Longturn on Freeciv-web server?

Hi!

I wonder if there is any interest in a Longturn server on Freeciv-web, the HTML5 version of Freeciv?
I have previously discussed cooperation between Longturn and Freeciv-web with Michal. Freeciv-web is developed here on github.
For this to work, the Longturn-changes to Freeciv would have to be extracted as patches, then updated to the current version of Freeciv.
It would also mean some changes to Freeciv-web to support Longturn, as well as finding someone who wants to administer the longturn games there.

I think adding Longturn support to Freeciv-web would be of great benefit to the Longturn and Freeciv-web players, and allow more people to play Longturn easily in their browser.

For me, is useless, because I cannot play in isometric tilesets and in such scale.

I don't imagine strategic game where I see only few units on the screen, because they are so big.

Personally I would welcome the possibily to connect to longturn.org game using Freeciv-web. Not that I would play at work *ahem* but it just happens that the firewall at my current office prevents connecting using the regular client. Or so they say, I wouldn't know.

It should be possible to add support for the trident tileset to Freeciv-web. It hasn't been implemented yet, since not many people have requested it.
As for the scale, you can zoom the mapview using your browser's scale menu items.

ah, scaling works indeed. It's not the same, because when I zoom-out to desired unit size, then city label is unreadable and UI buttons are hard to target, but it's something.

Well, if there is any non-isometric tileset there, I would play using web client. At least for proof of concept :).

How hard is to connect it to any arbitrary freeciv server?
