LT32 update

Post by mrsynical »

Hello

Out of interest, can we please get a brief update on what is happening in LT32. For example:

1. How many real (strong) teams/nations remain?
2. What are the techs most people have and what techs are the top teams researching?
3. Is there an ETA on completion?
4. Anything else you are willing to share :-)

There is nuclear mass genocide being done by Silent Spear. They used 44+ nukes till this turn212.

There are two viable teams left. The Knights and the SS as mentioned above.

Advanced Flight has been researched twice and completely lost twice. The same applies to the nukes. Nukes really existed only briefly first for 2 turns and then for 1 turn. Currently no one can build more nukes but as a war secret, I can reveal that there still exists more than zero nukes in the world.

No idea about ETA, but here are the latest events.

Team Det0r conquers most of the Shriekers in just few turns, everyone gets afraid they win and turn against them. They almost win but then don't and in the end stop playing leaving hundreds (?) of cities full of units producing more units.

Way too many turns conquering cities and resources. Both teams. Boring stuff and some relatively mild and less mild racing for cities.

After Team Det0r's lands are taken, some stuff and stuff and then the two remaining teams turn really fighting each other.

First nukes T207, then some cities taken by the SS.

Some war stuff in T209.

Huge areas quickly conquered by the Knights in T210-211 - possibly even 20% of the land area of the SS.

SS's counter strike in T211 taking 3 hours of real time, 3 capitals conquered and one split.

SS's counter strike continues in T212 and one more split was seen.

That's about it. Some stuff was not mentioned, but you should get the idea.

I don't think no one would get a domination victory if this was Civ4.

Nukes were never re-researched.
The game was finished with howitzers.

Wieder's description of his attack in T211 is probably the last exciting event.
After that the game just became stack howitzers, point at city, repeat.

Sounds like it was a pity that Team Det0r quit prematurely - would be good to understand why they felt cheated, so we can setup more attractive games in the future (personally, I am dying to play another game like this again sometime).

This is not accurate - Detor and Ste quit early. But Terror took over Detor and mmm2 took Ste.
Team Det0r was stronger not weaker after Det0r quit.
The reason Terror stopped attacking despite playing 3 players (Tiger, Deragh, Det0r) is because he knew he was beaten.
Temmikael and mmm2 carried on playing until the very end.

Players who come back with a new name should start the rankings afresh unless they specifically ask to continue.
The player we call 'Terror' was originally mir3x but changed names after being banned.
His second incarnation (player Terror) was also banned.
His identity is likely to change again for the next game. After all why keep a losing moniker. 'The Tiger is dead. Long live the Tiger!'
