Same to me, I dont like idea that if someone is able to play only between for eg. 10:15-10:26AM he may loose a turn every 24 turns.

For the next LW, I'd set "minimum distance between cities" lower than 5 (the map may be smaller, if necessary), make ancient and middle ages units easier accessible by lowering their price and cancel the endlessness of MPs while using railroads.

100% ok. Tech-trade is a broken setting for me. Maybe restrict infra is good to limit some turn change exploits, but in the other hand, it slows much the game.
Also endless railroad movements should be avoided. I've read that it is possible to change it in 2.5
