Victory declaration

Dear LT33 players. Our alliance consisting of (Kryon, Edrim, Cgalik, Wieder, Haken, Temmikael) declares victory. We do not want to kill all remaining players as some of them were friendly with us. If you are one of the remaining alive players and do not accept our victory please announce it and we will take care of you soon smile Thank you all for this fun game!

Re: Victory declaration

I will repeat a proposition I made in the game chat, but then Wieder started babbling incessantly and it was lost behind a wall of text tongue

Once the "victory" is resolved, I'd like to continue playing with whoever is interested. If there are too few players, maybe that wouldn't make any sense, but if there are 10 or more people who would like to continue, then I'd like to know if this would be possible.

If this is agreed on, it would be polite of the winning alliance to switch their nations to AIs wink

I think we should do it in proper way:)
Every player who accept our victory please make a post, every player who will not do it will become RIP.
We need to be sure we have won, because some of player could write after some time that they didint accept our victory. It was always in past and i think it is good tradition in future.

Edit:

Victory players: Cgalik, Edrim, Haken, Kryon, Temmikael, Wieder
Survivors: Evan, Bamskamp, Sandain, Maho, Chill, Corbeau, Paavo.

Re: Victory declaration

Why would you want to continue playing and what would happen at the extended period of gameplay?

I don't think that's going to happen as it's not a tradition but I'm interested about why.

Re: Victory declaration

Yeah, in the end gamee, any player who is not accepting defeat will be destroyed.

The East Germany will wait until the end of T132 and in the beginning of T133 we will start killing all those nations who are not allied to us and are not replying to this thread and stating that they will accept defeat.

This is the normal way of how LT game is ending.

...because... I like playing the game, and there is stuff that I didn't do in this game?

As for people accepting your victory, not many are on this forum. I suggest placing a meta-message in the Civ chat with the link to this thread so that everybody is informed.

Re: Victory declaration

The Polynesian Federation welcomes the victory of our friends,
and surrenders in every way to their complete control of the planet.
It is not our way to fight those we consider our brothers.
Rather we fight our enemies, and those who poison our peace.
And those who have betrayed us.
These are not worthy of the name 'dog'.
And shall for all time be considered unworthy.

Re: Victory declaration

I accept defeat at the hands of the winning alliance.

Edit: And I should not neglect to congratulate to the winners, it was an impressive showing.

Re: Victory declaration

I have edited my first post in this thread, but i will copy paste some of it here:

Not accepting victory yet: Corbeau, El_perdedor, Nicemicro, Paavo.

We want to finish it ASAP, if you dont want to write anything here you could be exterminated.

Players who accept our victory please remove your units from path that we can use to attack on players who has not accept it. We will try not to get your cities but if it is easier to get a city then build a rail then we will get some.

Which part of "you're the biggest, greatest, most masculine..." didn't you understand?

Yeah, ok, ok. I oficially declare that hereby I accept the victory of the aforementioned parties and do not hold the ambition of challenging their supremacy in the world.

Re: Victory declaration

How many players surrendered? This is ridiculous, so now all that is required is to become the biggest alliance and then everybody surrenders?

Well, that is for "everybody" to decide. If there is anyone left able to challenge this victory, it will soon be known. If not, then what exactly is the problem?

Besides, this is the result of the concept of "victory" in FreeCiv that you people have introduced a long time ago. If the only possible result is "winner" or "loser", then why waste time if there is no chance to become a "winner"? Hell, if I was going by the same logic, I should have quit two months ago.

Seems senseless? Well, I've been saying that from the beginning.

Re: Victory declaration

My humble question is the following.

I accept your victory, but I would like to see how efficiently you destroy my nation just for the sake of curiosity. So count me officially survivor, if it means anything.

And on the bottom line, even though I screwed up the game many times, and ended up a lot more behind than what I expected, I am very thankful that I could play this great game with you, it made my transition easier, that I had something continuous through while moving from my home in Europe to South Korea. This game was great, the chitchatting in the meantime was also elevating mostly, so thanks for running the server, and now, please take my cities.

Re: Victory declaration

So, it seems all alive players have accepted our victory. Thanks to all players for this fun and challenging game. And special thanks to akfaew for setting up this game.

And nicemicro, we will gladly fulfill your wish to become RIP. After that we can end the game.
