We have a server for LT30. Neither mahos nor mine servers could be used because of the increased memory requirements. Our new server is games5.gp.net.nz (CNAME lt30.longturn.org) in New Zealand. I want to thank James Nepia of http://gameplanet.co.nz/ for providing it, and det0r for asking him to. I'll setup and test it shortly. Right now please confirm your participation by clicking 'confirm' in http://longturn.org/game/LT30/ . The 'confirm' button is still work in progress so it's possible to encounter 'internal server error' - that means i botched something, and you should try again later. Emails will be sent shortly.
The plan is to start the game 2.01.2011. As usual, first turn will be 3*23 hours.

I would confirm my participation but I've completely lost and forgotten my password. I was able to find a way to reset my password only for the forums, not for the site itself. I guess I'll just make a new account and join with it.

Yeah, there is no way to reset a password. Send me an email from the address you put in your profile and i'll set it manually.

If you know you won't have computer access around game start - delegate to someone. I've just added this functionality to the webpage, and will port it from 2.2 to 2.3 later today.

Interesting where the game will be hosted! Is the power-base shifting from Poland to NZ?

I believe 54/75 people have confirmed. Will almost be twice as large as previous games and hopefully no idlers!

We're writing history with this game, what a huge player list! And the pre-game confirmation could turn out a very good way to get rid of idlers. I'm really curious what the game dynamics will be with so many players, it could lead to whole new strategies!

I see you made it to the player list, welcome aboard!

I see that 2 players have recently signed up but not confirmed (artaxes and zielmicha). This is understandable: they signed up after the email about confirmation was sent, so they probably didn't notice the button (and it's not intuitive that you have to confirm directly after sign up is already completed).
Perhaps we should regard players who signed up after the email about confirmation was sent (December 24th) as automatically confirmed? I'll send them a message to remind them to confirm, but they may not spot it in time for the start of the game.

I sent an email to every player who joined LT30 and has not confirmed. I also sent a notice to #freeciv

Hah, we had the same idea, I also sent everyone who didn't confirm yet a reminder through the website Seems that our collective spamming has helped, the number is ticking up!

I saw an idler, and I'm quite sure is confirmed since at least 3 turns (didn't move anything), but idle column under F3 doesn't show him idling and no idlers at all...

I was also a bit surprised that there seem to be no idlers yet, the confirmation before the gamestart probably weeded out most of them but zero would be exceptional. But I think the number of idle turns gets reset every time the server is reset or changed, which happened a number of times to correct unintended settings. So as soon as all server corrections are over the idle clock will tick again as normal.
Which player are you talking about?

But I think the number of idle turns gets reset every time the server is reset
This is true, unfortunately.
Another way to check for idlers is to go thru the chat log (it's set to 9 days i think).
