With a big map and distance between cities of 5 I like the bigger city radius. I voted against the change.

I am personally not a fan of limiting distance between cities (I like to be able to build shipping routes across peninsulas wider than 1 or build a 'Magino line' of fortified cities if neccesary) but if it is included I think that the city radius should match to allow overlapping. So for example two cities at the minimum distance should both be able to access all the tiles between them in a straight line. It ought to be the players strategic choice to spread cities out for lager size later or pack them close to maximise use of limited land (On an island for example).

I also don't like limiting distance between cities. Is it intended to prevent smallpoxing?
In this case a bigger radius could encourage give more space between cities to let at least some of them grow indefinitely.
In any case, I would not revert city radius.
BTW, why 5? Why 15? what these number means?

I didn't propose this poll, but I can give some background info.
Smallpox used to be very dominant in Longturn, and since we also usually switch off trade-routes we used minimum city distance to make largepox possible.
Increased city radius is a new feature so I'm not sure if we know its effect on the game. It makes some sense that it can enable largepox without needing to use minimum city distance, but the effect may not be strong enough or it may be limited to the last phase of the game (so smallpox would dominate the first half of the game).
Isn't "city radius = 5" the default setting?

Isn't "city radius = 5" the default setting?
It seems so, judging from the game.ruleset. My questions:
Is this a new parameter in version 2.3?
Should it be set independently from "citizen migrations" on/off? I think not.
And what setting of "citizen migrations" is LT30 about to inherit from LTex23? I've no idea about that..
