Request for opinions, anomymous playing and nation sharing

Post by wieder »

Hello everyone.

I have received more than few people asking me for the following questions.

1) Some people would like to play LT36 (or the future games) but they have limited amount of time allowing them not to play all the time. I'm asking if you think it should be possible to have two people to share a nation. The other one would be the actual nation owner and the other one would take the control of the nation with a delegation. Not allowed for both players to take the nation at the same turn and there would be a forum post when the switch is done. What do you think?

2) Some players have requested if it would be possible to play anonymously. This is of course already possible and all you need to do is to pick a new user name. However this way you will lose the ranking points. I suppose it's for Kryon to decide if the anonymous players could have the ranking points this way. I suppose there should be a way to make sure that the scores are updated no matter if the player won or lost. That means someone would need to know who is who before the game starts. Without that it would be possible not to report the lost games.

Thoughts, comments, opinions and stuff? :)

I would be opposed to sharing nations. Ladder Wars is for smaller games that require less time.

I don't care about anonymous playing.

Pretty much the only suitable way I can think about solving that is to have a trusted person (someone who is not playing) receiving the real name of the player (real name here = the original player name) and once the game ends that person should tell who that player was. This is of course not a long term solution for the anonymous players since the players will start looking solving the mysteries and guessing who of the old players is the new one.

This could be automated, naturally, but it would need code and there is no one to code stuff like that.

Thanks for the comments. It's better to talk about this kind of stuff since no one really has all the answers. If someone wants to add something please do :)
