We had size=1 in LT34.. Chaos with alliances, finally all strongest players combined and attacked novice players, wasn't it?
Let's try LT35 with 3 equal teams from the start?

Not all of the strongest players teamed up. The (probably) winning alliance shared a similar strategy and managed to grow strong because of that. Mmm2 actually posted a reasonably good draft of that on the forum. I'm guessing that we will make some changes to Marco Polo and perhaps also make the early units cheaper. That should make the game easier for those who want to go for an early war.

It would be interesting to know if we had lots of players who didn't build Marco Polo.

I will sign up if there are more than 2 teams and if there is a limit to the amount of time people can log in per turn.

If we want more experienced players to teach less experienced players on their team, I suggest the following rule:

You cannot win (only claim survivor) unless all of the members of your team survive until the end of the game. This would force elite players to teach and protect weaker players within their teams!

...or join ONLY with players who have a high probability of survival, meaning, No N00bs Allowed In This Alliance ;)

I kind of liked LT34. The only thing I wish is the map was much smaller. If one happens to stay until late game it becomes so tedious to manage all of that stuff. I can't afford spending half an hour every day just to move units around and I can see a game on a smaller map being as interesting as on a big map.

Mika, I don't think that would be possible. In the last team game, despite teams trying hard to protect and advise noobs they got slaughtered very quickly. Most teams ended up switching delegation all the time so only the good players were on the front line.

Lord_P, maybe you are right. But we have to think of some way to encourage new players to get better, otherwise the best players will get bored and leave because there is no challenge. Or maybe ladder wars is indeed the answer (I still have to try that).

In a way LT34 was tuned for the newcomers. It was really hard to fight the early wars and the islands scenario made that even harder. I will probably start the work with the LT35 ruleset next week. Most of the modifications have been posted here already, but one of them missing is making Marco Polo as a world wonder and giving the +40% effect for everyone. That should be interesting. The same would apply to Michelangelo's. Marco Polo would cost 800 and Michelangelo's 300. How about that?

How about this.

Marco Polo would cost 600 and it would give everyone +25% boost just like Marco Polo did in LT34. The player who builds it would be able to build another wonder giving him/her +15% additional +15% boost. That wonder would be available at a later time, maybe with economy. The cost could be something like 100 and because it would be a great wonder, it wouldn't be destroyed if the city was conquered. +25% and +15% and the costs are just suggestions at this point.

There it is, recognition! Someone is calling me a strong player. Noob yesterday, top pro tomorrow lol. Seriously, you're overestimating our (or at least my) abilities.
