I repeat the comment I made earlier because no one responded. The problem 'long term delegation' I refer to is keeping the delegation of an idler going for a long time. I have no problem with people who go on vacation, they can say how long they will be away. I have a problem with delegating idlers and keeping that delegation going for a very long time.

Maximum delegation of an idler is 7 turns.
People on vacation have to state when they will be back After that they become an idler with the 7 day limit.
Given that city trading is on, all cities except the capital can be passed to team mates. The capital city is still there in case the idler returns later.
I also suggest that the maximum number of manual overrides per team is set at 1. Just once for the entire game. (unless website delegation breaks down again.)

Hasp93 is on vacation until th 12th or 14th July. Archont has agreed to take the delegation instead of me and akfaew made that change, so that we only control one player each (we have one idler also, namely Chuck, whom I control).
If we set a limit to the time to keep an idler, I think 7 turns is ok, but I may prefer a little longer, because what will happen with their cities when we are no longer allowed to control them? Would they become neutral, so we can take over the city? Or can we somehow do it so we can give away capital/sell palace?

It seems like we need an in-game votes?akfaew wrote:Kryon controls Dimitril, Kes_Of_Kobo. Delegate one of those to someone else. Why do people take on so many delegations? Maybe we should have a game with 8 players, where each one controls 8 nations of his own.
Xercise, I have no answers to you, I dont think this was ever done before. Propose what you think is best.
My preference is:
1. Find a replacement player (even if a top gun player)
2. idlers should have those cities transferred to team-members. You just set instructions for that city (science production?) and just abandon the city until somebody potentially captures it in the future.

To answer Xercise - idlers should not be killed. Their capital city should be left alive.
This means
1. The idler can come back
2. We can replace the idler from a substitution list.
The team can then give back the cities they took with city trading to the idler.
I think the signup list should be reopened so that we can get some new players to take over the idlers.

I opt for reopening singups as well. Teams should get replacements for their idlers, if possible.

After some serious troubles with cooperation inside the team, el_perdedor quit the game in anger. Since my previous delegation (hasp93) already expired (he returned to the game on Friday), I ask for a delegation of Teutonic nation to myself.
EDIT: ok, it seems hasp has not cancelled delegation yet. So please wait a while.
EDIT 2: ok, the LT32 webpage informs me that I am relieved of my duty. So could you give me Teutons, please?

I dont know if manual delegation is good for the rest of a game, we have set it because somebody could go out before delegation system works good, now when player is going to vacations his duty is to set delegation for any of other team members.
If you have bad agreement with one of your players you should ask him to set delegation on some of your team, if he doesnt want to do it you will need to wait for him to be set as idle and try to get change for him. In your case he has been changed already and he has logged into a game couple of times.
Once again - I dont think manual admin delegation is good thing for future. We are creating another exploit of this system. If someone stop logging he will be set as idle after 10 turns and cut from a game or replacement (except he has wrote to vacation list and didnt set a delegation).
I am going to create restricted rules for all of you saying "what is not prohibited is permitted". Manual admin delegation will have one point on this rules. Of course this rules will be in poll for some time and we will need to agree for them.
