Trade routes

How about enabling trade routes but disable any revenue? Any thoughts? We will start the game soon, so maybe it's too late to discuss this.

So you can use them to increase city trade, but you get no bulk gold/science when establishing the trade route?

Yes. Also increase plague risk slightly, from what I see.

i would suggest no change (for this game). We have pooled research so might be best not to accelerate gold/science?

It seems we will have a smallish map (average 15 cities at the start) so happiness should not be major problem in this game?

hmm... i am not really a big fan of traderoutes. with warclient, pepeto made algorithm for generating optimal traderoutes, but to do that with no algorithm just consumes a lot of time each turn, especially if to coordinate with allies.. it also takes away strength from lone wolf attackers who don't have the benefit of long distance traderoutes...
