I have better things to do with my time than play games where people ignore the rules and admin's do nothing about it. I guess now you guys can split your victory three ways, or kevins team win and Xercise's/akfaew's teams don't lose or whatever bullshit you were going to do.

Please delegate det0r to tiger and ste to mmm2.

I have problems with the 'game end' system. Because most players seem to prefer 'stopping someone else from winning' rather than 'trying to win themselves' these games will all be very boring and there will very rarely be a winner. All this does is further encourage the lame, massive alliances which have ruined the past 4 LT games, including now a team game where teams are actively working together.

What is the point in playing really hard early game to come out on top, when it will just mean that everyone else forms an alliance against you and the game will be declared a draw? For people who want to play a domination-style (control the entire world) turn-based strategy game there is no reason to continue playing LT.

#3 Re: LadderWars » Start - when? » 2013-11-15 22:17:52

I think he intents to use Kryon's rankings for initial seedings. eX games have never counted towards rankings in the past so I'm assuming they won't count towards this (instead they run parallel to the main games).

Can you please change delegation of Deragh from me to tiger. I am quite busy with work and I don't have time for two civs at the moment.

Det0r - you are talking about time consuming, ask your teammates to log out after an hour spending in a game, it wasnt happen even if i asked for it.

Will do. I've accidentally left the client open a couple of times the last few days but I haven't seen requests to log out in the chat so I don't think I'm the culprit

To counterattack this, I have to use the same tactic (I won't do it) or just stay online each turn change to kill the workers/military units that try to do this trick (I won't do itl either).

Yes, it is a lame bug/exploit and as I said in the other thread it reduces the game to "TC wars" which are frustrating and time consuming. It was used against us first (I didn't even know that the bug existed until tiger pointed out that cgalik/akfaews team used it against us [.. who were your allies I should point out]) and so we asked for the bug to be fixed. It wasn't fixed, and both admin's teams continued to use it against us, so at some point we went with the old saying "if you can't beat them, join them" and started to use the bug too.

Can you please explain why you switched from yourself to det0r last week? were you away? why do you have to keep switching?

Yeah he was going away/had a limited time available for LT so I took Deragh for a couple of turns. With the extended TC for the server restart, it's only worked out at a couple of turns. I can keep delegation of Deragh if people have issues with how quickly the delegation has been changed.

#8 Re: LT32 » Server down. » 2013-09-17 02:07:34

The machine is responding to ping requests so I doubt it is hardware failure again, the LT server may have just crashed. I am happy to wait for akfaew to return if edrim thinks that is best.

#9 Re: LT32 » Pre-Fortress is not working as intended. » 2013-09-11 02:05:19

Well I guess it should be the people who have had this used against them who get the final say (i.e. are they happy for it to be patched mid-game, or do they want a chance to do it to their enemies).

My biggest concern is that this will result in the game becoming a "TC-war", as the whole purpose of a pre-fortress was to prevent the game devolving into a TC-war (which is usually much less fun and much more time consuming for everybody involved).

#10 Re: LT32 » Pre-Fortress is not working as intended. » 2013-09-09 07:08:36

I think this should be patched/hot-fixed when akfaew gets time. Hopefully nobody disagrees..

#11 Re: LT32 » Vacation idle list. » 2013-08-27 20:44:27

I am off to Copenhagen for 10 days to attend a conference so I have delegated to tiger. Please remove ankka8x's delegation to me.

#12 Re: LT32 » Vacation idle list. » 2013-08-19 22:53:23

Just so that everybody knows, Ankka8x has had some personal matters to attend - akfaew has set his delegation to me until ankka returns.

Xercise, you want to avoid the bother of /taking a second nation and instead distribute the cities to players at the cost of losing one nation in your team, is this correct?

As I understand it, Xercise is specifically against idlers who are permanently delegated.

Can we re-open sign ups and get some new players in instead?  Maybe theres still a few that read this forum and want to get in the game...

Team Leaders were against this in case somebody got a good player to join (e.g. if we asked bli to come and play for Deragh). In my case, someone said they knew Deragh and would ask him, but I haven't heard anything since?

Personally I think we should continue with delegations. If Xercise thinks this is unfair then I guess the only fair solution is to go with what was proposed from the beginning - idlers trade their cities via diplomacy and are removed from the game.

#14 Re: LT32 » Idler » 2013-07-22 02:36:28

There is an issue with removing idlers - teams who have an idler far away from other teammates are at a disadvantage, because once they trade cities they will have very high corruption. I have no issues distributing Deragh's cities amongst my teammates, but if edrim has to give topyli's cities to someone they will probably all be useless at size 1/2 because of corruption/waste, making those cities much easier for my team to kill. This is good for my team, but I don't think it is very fair for edrim's team.

#15 Re: LT32 » Vacation idle list. » 2013-07-08 22:27:56

oh wtf, mmm2 has delegated to me O_o

#16 Re: LT32 » Vacation idle list. » 2013-07-08 12:12:56

ste has delegated to me because he's gone away for a couple of days. If it annoys people that I have two people delegated to me, you could change the delegation of Deragh to mmm2.

#17 Re: LT32 » Vacation idle list. » 2013-07-05 11:52:54

Deragh has never responded to any of my e-mails. We should consider him an idler (maybe he is on vacation)?

#18 Re: LT32 » Idler » 2013-07-05 11:51:38

He hasn't responded to any of my emails so if he delegated/responds to you can you please ask him to contact me? For now akfaew has fixed it by re-delegating to me, it wasn't a major issue.

#19 Re: LT32 » LT32 has started » 2013-07-05 01:37:00

Thanks for tending to the whims of an argumentative group of TLs that can never reach consensus ;b

#20 Re: LT32 » Idler » 2013-07-05 00:03:57

Why is Deragh delegated to Nevermind (cgalik's team) not me?

I think that Darwin's Voyage is missing?

#23 Re: LT32 » Replacement for Duncan_Shriek » 2013-06-21 01:38:43

I don't mind if you use this player because you lost your TL but I agree with edrim that we should delegate for any other idlers.

What will be the process to identify idlers? Can we ask akfaew to delegate control of team members we think are afk to the Tasmanian?

#24 Re: LT32 » start in: X days - clarification » 2013-06-20 12:15:12

just restart the server with our original random positions and set turn length to 10 min if you want to run a test game

#25 Re: LT32 » Replacement for Duncan_Shriek » 2013-06-19 01:06:26

Maybe we can do a player confirmation and anybody who doesn't confirm can be delegated to a team member (leader with the exception of Duncan's team) with the intention of replacing them with new sign ups (if we can get them)?
