Hi,
I read announcement about LW1, and I see that it was almost 2 years ago. I missed LW2 and in such way - I had to wait almost year for LW3.
When LW3 will start, I can forget what is that whole LW (in fact I have already forgot and I had to refresh my memory by reading initial announcement). It's too slow.
What can we do to speedup it?
If LW is played in smaller groups, maybe it would be possible if everyone click endturn earlier than 24h from endturn?
what to do to make ladder wars a bit faster?

It is possible but there are some dangers about it like when we need to end other games.maho wrote:If LW is played in smaller groups, maybe it would be possible if everyone click endturn earlier than 24h from endturn?
It is possible to make it faster but I dont think i wanted to do it in creation time.
I wanted to make it more pleasant for newbies and harder for oldtimers when splitting them into different boards.
That was always thing you will play with your level players (less then in regular) not very faster then regular games.

4 turns / day would be too much for most people. It would be incredibly easy to miss a turn.
I originally thought you only wanted the games to start more often. It's actually a good question. How often should there be new games? My opinion is that GT started games too often. Even twice a month if I remember correcly but then again they had a different view on how to evolve Freeciv multiplayer. If I haven't completely misunderstood, GT was supposed to become *huge* Freeciv site.
Might have worked as a mobile game like those made by Supercell but this is probably not mainstream enough for starting several games every month. Or for 6h turns

missing a turn is not something we should avoid. I don't need to login every turn, except when there is war in progress.
What about X turns/day, with "slow time" button, which extends turn to whole 24h?
Too little number of games is one things, but too long ladder games is another thing. Ladder has sense, when one spoke is after another spoke. So there is no sense to start LW3 before LW2 ends, right?
